My New Year's Resolution is/was to update my sites more.

So I got through the last semester, with a B in every class. I am pleased to say the least. The hardwork paid off.

This semester I have Modern American Drama, Race and Gender in Theatre, Middle Eastern Women: Art, Music & Lit, Logo Design, and at last I've reached the Holy Grail of Graphic Design School: Portfolio.

The reason why Portfolio is the Holy Grail is because it allows participation in the Senior show. Where each senior is given a little bit of space to display their work. Family and friends are invited, and oh yeah, did I mention that awards are given out?

It's kind of a big deal. This is where I pull out a paper bag and start to breathe into it rapidly.

Last Monday I met with my Professor to look over my work from past semesters to decide what work was good enough, or should I say salvageable enough to go on my board in the show.

I already knew that my stuff needed A LOT of work. Especially considering how unfocused I was before my little hiatus from school. The good thing is that I have an entire bachelor's worth of design knowledge now. Another huge plus is that the restrictions I had before with these projects are non-existent.

This site is going to need a nice overhaul after this semester too. That's a good thing though.

Needless to say I'm not very good at keeping a blog.

I've been very busy, but that's a good thing. I'm back in school with six classes and an internship five days of the week.

My classes are Modern Art (where I am now). Digital Design II, Web Design, Advanced 3-D, Printmaking, and Democracy in Education.

I can't stress how enthusiastic I am about this semester. The only problem is that I have zero time to do anything besides work. They are, none of them easy classes. Except maybe the Web Design because there was a time when I could hand code an entire website with very little help from a guide. So its a refresher course with a couple of new standards and tags thrown in.

I think that I will be dropping the internship to clear more time in my schedule. Not because its not important or I'm less enthusiastic about it then the classes, but because its the only thing that is not absolutely necessary for graduation in the spring.

I've already learned a lot with the internship, but its one that I'm just going to have to take on the chin.

I got my hands on some copies of ARTZMANIA a digital magazine that features upcoming artists. I spent the last few days looking through them and got some ideas for some of projects of mine that dead-ended.

I also got some inspiration for reworking some pieces that I did for school. I'm pretty happy about that because I was really uninspired when I did one of those pieces, and now I have an overflow of ideas for it.

I spent today drawing a better logo for my site, and working on the website some more. I finally got the "links" page up, and this blog. I also fixed a glitch with the nav rollovers that kept them from changing smoothly. Those sienna filters on the previews had to go. They just didn't flow with the rest of the site.

Pretty much all that's left now is "projects" page, but that one come until the new semester starts. That page will cover what I'm working on in school.

All in all a reasonably productive day.
